How do you find a cheap hotel in Makkah?

  • Travel off-peak: the same room can cost several times more in the last ten nights of Ramadan than in summer.
  • Share a room: many budget hotels offer triple and quad rooms, which cut the price per person.
  • Check what "near" means: read the distance in metres and the walking route, not only the hotel description.
  • Book refundable early: book a free-cancellation rate early, then look again closer to your dates.
